Glacier Bay

I woke up one morning to a beautiful Alaskan bay scenery from my stateroom window. Today the ship was cruising through Glacier Bay for passengers to view. Roy took off early with his painting group before we even woke up. They were out there somewhere painting on the deck of the ship. Lucas, Martha and I woke up all excitedly. We hurriedly went to the 15th floor for our morning buffet breakfast first. Alas, all the dining view windows were already taken by the earlier risers. We however found a nice table for strategic overlook. After breakfast, we went searching for a deck with a more vantage view point. Martha brought us to the upper front deck for better viewing. Everybody was oh so excited:
Woke up to a beautiful Alaskan bay view.
Wonderful sights from the buffet breakfast window.
Approaching Margerie Glacier!
Wow, we found and settled at a nice vantage point for viewing. Actually every side of the boat was a vantage point for the ship turned around thrice for everybody to have a good look of the glacier.
Martha and the Margerie Glacier. We were so excited. We even saw some glaciers calving in, followed by loud crushing sounds. It was really a novel experience for all of us.
Really beautiful!!! After the calved-ins, more icebergs appeared on the bay.
More carved ins and more icebergs.
A chunk of iceberg with birds standing on it.
The Lamplugh Glacier was huge, more bluish but dirty. According to the commentator, "The glaciers eat the mountain for breakfast", as it moved forward to the bay. They were formed millions and millions of years ago.

We finally found Roy and Peter Seiler painting at the port side of the deck.
Mr. Peter Seiler, the reknown artist.
More bay view
Another glacier yonder, and the Crown Princess steered away from the bay for another day.
And here are Roy's postcard sized paintings of the Glacier Bay. Well done, Roy!!!
