Holiday in Manila

Lucas and I spent our Christmas and New Year and the whole of the yuletide season here in Manila with the rest of our children except Roy who was in USA. We came here Dec 22 and I immediately felt the holiday atmosphere with the cooler air and well lighted streets and decors everywhere. There was immediately a party at my brother Boy's condo. The party food was superb: grilled steak and fish and a lot of side dishes. There were parties almost everyday. It was more Christmasy than Cotabato.
Christmas dinner was at Uncle Fernando's house with all of us brothers and sisters and our children in attendance. We almost even beat our cousins and their children in numbers. The kids got their red packets from their Dikimpo and we got an electric fan (per family ) from Diku and Dikim.
New Year's dinner was at my brother Jun's place. It was actually a stone throw walk from my house. We ate fresh lumpia prepared by my sister Imelda. I contributed bihon guisado, chicken salad and gulaman dessert. Joemar grilled liempo and tuna fish fillet.
After all the Christmas and New Year's dinners though, I traditiionally prepared my own noche buena. Christmas season here is really a big eating feasitval. hehehe....I guess all elsewhere. Happy New Year to all!

Donations of school buildings

In line with the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce school building projects; last week my husband Lucas together with his brother Lucio, two Manila federation's representatives, local board members James Yap, Johnson Go, Bernardino Cue and others went to the interiors of Cotabato, Maguindanao to donate 19 units of two-classroom school buildings. They went to Buaya Buaya, Tamontaka, Kakar, Dalikan, Upi and other barriors to officially turn over the school buildings.

LCT hardware, our family own business donated one unit, other local business establishments followed suit with Mr. Enrique Cheng (base in Manila) donating 9 units.

Lucas was happy to be involved with the civic events. He enjoyed the trip to the hinterlands: the bumpy roads, the scenic views, the fellowships and others. I shall soon post some of the pictures taken.
